The HIA was passed by the Alberta Legislature in 1999 and came into
effect on April 25, 2001.
The Health Information Act (HIA) provides individuals with the right
to request access to health records in the custody or under the
control of custodians, while providing custodians with a framework
within which they must conduct the collection, use and disclosure of
health information.
Dr’s Wilson, Heimdahl & ZoBell is a provincially recognized practice
of optometry that was established in Ponoka, AB. In 1976. The clinic
has grown and expanded to incorporate three other locations in the
Central Alberta region.
This success has occurred by word-of-mouth referral and is largely
the result of a constant quest for excellence in patient service and
satisfaction. Drs. Wilson, Heimdahl & Zobell along with their staff
